How I optimised my photo ? 

Using Camera Raw, I added in more contrast. 

Using photoshop, I created a high pass filter layer with a back mask and changed the blending mode to soft light. I used the white brush to paint in the eyes to add sharpness to them. They are the most important element for this portrait so I really wanted them to stand out.
